Barrett Adolescent Centre Commission of Inquiry

The Commissioner, the Honourable Margaret Wilson QC, presented her report to the Premier on 24 June 2016.

The Commission has now concluded.

The Queensland Government has provided the following information regarding its consideration of the report:

The Barrett Adolescent Centre Commission of Inquiry handed its report to Government on Friday 24 June. The report was commissioned to obtain an independent review of the closure of the Barrett Adolescent Centre.

As this is a sensitive issue, the Government has acknowledged that it is important to ensure that the people who shared their experiences with the Commission continue to be treated with dignity and respect.

At the Commissioner's request, the Government will carefully consider the report before publicly releasing it with the Government's response due in the next few weeks.
